The IOA Foundation, Inc. Funding Guidelines
NOTE: As of April 28, 2008 new funds will not be considered for the next 24 months as all funds have been committed. Please contact us within 18 months to get an update regarding future submissions.
The IOA Foundation, Inc. accepts grant applications from 501(c)(3) or 170(c)(1) non-profit organizations in all IOA service areas that meet our mission and address a community outreach priority. Additionally, the organization must meet the following criteria:
- Complete The IOA Foundation application and submit supporting materials.
- Must be a non-profit organization under Section 501(c)(3) or 170(c)(1) of the Internal Revenue Service Code, having sustained such status for at least 12 months prior to the date of the application.
- The program must administer services to low-income, at-risk children or families.
- Must have a general membership that is open to all segments of the community.
- Must use all funds to serve clients who live in our service areas.
- Organization must have an operating deficit of less than 10% of its income.
- Must not have a negative net asset position that is more than 10% of its income.
- Must not spend more than 30% of its operating budget on administrative and fund-raising expenses.
- Must have an operating budget of $75,000 or more.
- Must have at least one year operating history.
- Applicant organization cannot be a government agency.
- Must not serve primarily as a service club, political or veteran’s organization.
- National organizations cannot request “general support.”
- Research funding will not be considered.
